Introduction
The Hinterland to Headland Poetry Trail is a project of three members of the Sunshine Coast Pente Poets â Judith Bandidt, Deanne Lister and Lyn Browne.
Hinterland to Headland links poetry sites across the region, with place-making poetry embedded in the landscape at significant public spaces such as parks, walking trails and picnic areas. Media and technologies used to bring poetry to people vary from a sculptural approach to audio trails focusing on local history, nature and the environment.
At the Maroochy Wetlands Sanctuary an Audio Poetry Trail is available to visitors. Here the three poetry trail poets are joined by Pente Poet and bird lover Susie Faint to present poems inspired by the natural environment, bird life and unique ambience of this special place.
QR codes are displayed at three listening stages, indicated by Poetry Trail plaques on seating beside the boardwalk. By using a SCAN app on a smart phone visitors may listen to the poetry trail poets reading their poems written about the Maroochy Wetlands Sanctuary.
The Pente Poets are a group of poets from the Sunshine Coast hinterland and coast who have been meeting and writing together since 2006.
